John and Adriana’s Miami engagement session at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens started slow and quiet, just after sunrise, with the place almost entirely to ourselves. John kept things light and playful throughout the session, always making Adriana laugh, and the way he looked at her never left you questioning how he felt.

Vizcaya always feels like stepping into an Italian villa from a bygone era, with its old-world architecture and views right on the water. I was especially drawn to the texture of the coral stone and the Tea House overlooking the bay. The way the light moved through the arches in the Tea House felt soft and layered, almost like it lingered for a moment before passing through. In typical Miami fashion, the heat did set in early, so we found ourselves drifting in and out of shade, moving with the light as it shifted through the space.

What made this one feel different for me was how personal it was. It was my first time shooting professionally at Vizcaya, but not my first visit. I had my own photos taken there many years ago and hadn’t been back since. Stepping into this space again felt like a full circle moment for me, this time behind the camera.
